The One Thing That Pleases God

Recently, a dear high school friend sent encouraging words about my writings. Her heart-warming thoughts became more inspiring as she shared how she endures with her own healing journey. Her faith keeps her through and she is even enjoying every step of her joyful journey with the Lord and her family.

God’s Word is indeed true!

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Hebrews 11:6

As I was praying for her, I just can’t praise God enough realizing that faith not only pleases Him but even we, as we exercise faith towards Him, gains real joy in the process.

When we read through Hebrews 11 and all the heroes of faith listed there, we can also think that this chapter can also be called The Hall of the Most Joyful. These are the individuals who walked on this earth and trusted God even when life betrays them. The result? Their faith leads them to a more joyful journey afterwards.

Faith in the Lord can give us lasting joy that overcomes the challenges of this life. It’s the “hope against hope” (Romans 4:18). It’s the faith that can pass through floods, fires, lions, barrenness, sacrifices, persecutions, betrayals, sicknesses, hopelessness, and sins. It can go through all these and others with more strength and results to greater peace and more joy.

If God allows us to pass through trying times at the moment, remember:

The difficult times are the opportunities God is giving us to please Him, so we may also experience the joy that comes with it.

Let’s not waste these opportunities. Keep the faith, then have a joyful journey ahead!
